In conversation with ramesh vala obe
Do you want to see how high you can climb in life? Do you want to have the greatest view the world can offer you? Vietpro is excited to bring you the latest event “In Conversation with Ramesh Vala OBE” on Monday, 25th of June at London School of Economics (LSE). The theme for the evening will be: “How to break the glass ceiling, achieve a successful career and a work-life balance”.
Having come from an ethnic minority background and overcome significant challenges, Ramesh’s life story will be inspring to both professionals and students. Apart from topics in the event theme above, Ramesh will also cover many other interesting discussion topics, including:
- The art of networking: how to make friends and be confident in talking to people
- Advices on investing and wealth building
- The art of happiness: being successful, not only as a professional but also as a person
As a brief introduction, Ramesh Vala OBE was born in Nairobi, Kenya, to a humble background. Having attended the LSE, he has gone on to become one of only a handful of Asian Equity Partners in the top 100 law firms and now runs his own Asset Management business in Mayfair, London.
Ramesh was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Years Honours List for 2001. “Success is a journey not a destination”, this is certainly true of Ramesh who is still in his forties. The citation is for services to the Asha Foundation but Ramesh has also been recognised for his services to Cancer Relief Macmillan Fund and Anti-Slavery International. Ramesh has always positioned himself at the sharp end - climbing Mount Kenya (twice), Mount Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa) and cycling long distances to collect money for worthwhile causes.
